Working at Height Assessments
Work at height is the biggest single cause of fatal and serious injury in the construction industry and the HSE statistics show that over 60% of deaths during work at height involve falls.
The law requires that employers and self-employed contractors assess the risk from work at height and organise and plan the work so it is carried out safely. The first step is of course to try avoiding work at height. However we understand that this is not possible, therefore you must ensure that control measures are in place to prevent or arrest a fall and injury if work at height is necessary.
To identify the control measures required, OM Safety Solutions Ltd can conduct a working at heights risk assessment for any work that your employees or sub-contractors may undertake. This will take into account the environment in which the work is to be carried out; the nature of the work; the duration and the person or people carrying out the specific tasks.
From this working at heights risk assessment, a relevant and suitable method statement can be developed to record all of the specific tasks and control measures required and communicate the sequence of works to your staff or sub-contractors.
Our consultants can also instruct and train your workforce in the precautions needed, to ensure that they have been provided with all of the most up-to-date and relevant information to enable them to carry out their job safely and effectively.
